Welcome to Ramp Coordinator Elise Sjogren

Please join us in welcoming Elise Sjogren to the Rebuilding Together Team!  Elise works with our Program Manager to plan and oversee ramp projects, including previewing projects, developing the scopes of work, determining volunteer and contracted labor needs, supervising volunteers, and working to ensure that ramp projects are completed within budget and time constraints.

Elise attended Augsburg College and the University of New Hampshire. She has more than five years of experience working in the mental health and public education spaces.  She also volunteered for our organization for many years prior to joining our team.

Elise enjoys spending time outside, especially fishing. She also loves spending time with her family.

Meet New Development Director Kim Peterson

We are thrilled to announce that Kim Peterson has joined our team as the Development Director! In this role, Kim is responsible for cultivating individual donors and sponsors, which includes planning and overseeing events and identifying new strategies to raise money.

With experiences in both for-profit and nonprofit sectors, Kim (she/her) develops big ideas and achieves ambitious goals through community-centered innovation. She is a skilled relationship manager energized by change and potential and is adept at developing long-term strategies, facilitating initiatives, and co-creating collaborative solutions. Drawing on her experiences as a performance artist, event producer, and community builder, Kim brings a focus on crafting engaging experiences that build authentic connections through the lens of justice and equity. She holds a Master of Arts degree from Texas Woman’s University, with her research focused on structural models for the funding of performing arts nonprofits.

Welcome to Construction Coordinator Eduardo Cardenas

Please join us in welcoming our Construction Coordinator Eduardo Cardenas to our team! Eduardo will work with our Program Manager to plan and oversee projects, including previewing projects, developing the scopes of work, determining volunteer and contracted labor needs, supervising volunteers, performing repairs and accessibility modifications, and working to ensure that projects are completed within budget and time constraints.

Eduardo comes to Rebuilding Together with over 20 years of experience in home renovation and construction work and over 15 years of community engagement work with neighborhood councils, labor rights organizations and energy efficiency reform efforts. He is particularly excited to have the opportunity to work directly with folks to improve their homes because he recognizes that every house is special and vital to the wellbeing and happiness of those who call it home. Eduardo also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Boston University and a Master of Fine Arts in Ecological Architecture from Vesper College.

Eduardo said, “My many years of construction experience, along with my background in art, sustainability, and mission-driven but budget-limited organizations, have helped me become incredibly good at coming up with creative solutions to logistics and building challenges in collaborative settings with diverse participants.”

Eduardo lives in South Minneapolis and loves to make special piñatas and Halloween costumes for his two young kids.

We Are Hiring!

We are hiring a full-time Construction Coordinator for the Twin Cities Metro!

The Construction Coordinator will work with our Program Manager to plan and oversee work on various programs and the related projects throughout the year. This will include planning the details of the project work scope through to final reporting. This role will also include hands-on supervision of volunteer individuals and/or team(s) on certain project days. The Construction Coordinator will perform home modification and repairs, post-work evaluations to ensure work is complete and well done, and coordinate any follow-up work needed. The Construction Coordinator will work as part of our team to increase our capacity, efficiency and quality of services.
