Apply For Services

Overwhelmed with home repairs? You've come to the right place.

Rebuilding Together Minnesota works year-round to sustain healthy neighborhoods and ensure that people in need can live independently and safely in their homes.

How Can We Help?

We have two core programs to support the critical repairs and modifications we’re able to provide for low-income homeowners.

Safe at Home
Program

This program provides aging-in-place modifications, fire safety equipment, and mobility installations for older adults or those living with a disability, enabling them to continue living safely and independently in their homes.

Home Repair
Program

This program provides critical home repair services like roofing to ensure families can live in safe and healthy homes. This program includes Manufactured Homes for those living in the Twin Cities metro-area.

How Does Our Process Work?

Our application process includes three steps before we’re able to start repairs.

1) Submit an Application – this information will support us in determining if you qualify for one of our existing programs. The criteria changes year to year, so it’s important to include as much information as you can.
2) Applicant Review – once your application is received, it is reviewed by staff who will be in touch for more details, including completing all documentation required for the program.
3) Site Visit – once your interview is complete and documents are received, we’ll set up a time to visit your home to assess the kind of repairs we can offer, and begin to draft a timeline for repair.

Provided all goes well, these three steps can take up to six months to complete. Work typically takes another six months to be set with contractors, volunteers, and to pull appropriate permits. Unfortunately, we are unable to support emergency repairs at this time. Our Resource Page has potential alternative services listed that may be available to you.

Do I Qualify For Services?

To qualify for services, you must 1) own your own home, and 2) meet income requirements.

Published by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) each year, AMI is a key factor in determining eligibility for affordable housing programs. Our programs typically serve at or below 50% of AMI for your county and household size.

Checking Your Household AMI:

Below, you can use the drop-down to see the current limits (2025) for our 13 most commonly served counties for a 1-person, 2-person, or 4-person household.

  • Include all residents of the home who live there at least half the time. This should include children and those who are not working.
  • Include all income sources such as Social Security/Disability payments, wages, and any other income earned by anyone in the home.

If you are unsure if your household income qualifies, or if your county isn’t listed,  we recommend completing an application so staff can review your circumstances.
