Mother and Daughter Build Was a Huge Success!

On May 17th, we hosted our first annual Mother and Daughter Build!  WCCO Radio’s Susan Blanch and her daughter were joined by four other mother/daughter pairs to repair Darla’s home in South Minneapolis.  The homeowner we helped that day, Darla, is a proud grandmother who has some trouble navigating her home safely and independently.  The mother and daughter teams worked together to finish a wheelchair accessible ramp, paint three bedrooms, caulk windows, and install interior handrails, two grab bars, and a storm door. The volunteers enjoyed a lunch donated by Subway. Many of the women also participated in a training on May 14th when we built two 4×4 walls and tiled them to use as training tools for our Safe at Home program.

Thank you to everyone who participated and thanks to Subway for donating lunch that day!
