Thanks to Wells Fargo!

We are incredibly grateful for the support and hard work of our friends at Wells Fargo.  This year, we partnered with 108 Wells Fargo volunteers to repair five homes and make improvements to Rondo Park.

Marvin Anderson, Co-founder of Rondo Avenue Inc. and Chair of ReConnectRondo, said “On behalf of the Rondo Commemorative Plaza, I want to extend our most sincere thanks to the Wells Fargo volunteers who participated in the work assignment yesterday afternoon at the plaza. From the start to the finish, from one end to the other, the volunteers approached the hard tasks – staining the benches, pulling the weeds, cutting the grass and the general clean-up of the site with an enthusiasm and joy rarely seen in organizations such as ours. Because of their work, the plaza is primed, ready and looking good for all of the dignitaries, guests and visitors expected to attend the brick installation ceremony.”

Wells Fargo has been an invaluable partner to our organization for many years.  Over the last 10 years, 1,103 volunteers have given 8,995 hours of service, and Wells Fargo has donated $540,000 to support our work in the Twin Cities community.

HRVP Ramp Team Installs 50th Ramp

We are thrilled to share that our HRVP Ramp Team recently completed their 50th Ramp at a transitional home operated by the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV).  These incredible volunteers braved the rain and mud to make sure that this project was a success, so homeless veterans can access the transitional housing provided by MACV.

David Nguyen, metro housing team leader for Minnesota Housing Council for Veterans said, “The ramp for our transitional housing is instrumental for MACV to efficiently serve all of our Veterans in need.  The ramp allows Veterans with wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility barriers to safely and efficiently enter and exit the house.  Most importantly, it allows us to serve those who served us with the respect and dignity they deserve.  Already, we are looking at moving two Veterans into the house that received Rebuilding Together Twin Cities’ last ramp build.  Both Veterans have mobility issues and we know that we will achieve our mission of ending Veteran homelessness with your support.”

Rebuilding Together Twin Cities is incredibly grateful to the HRVP Ramp Team, and we are look forward to continuing this partnership!

Thanks to Empirehouse!

We would like to send a special thank you to Empirehouse for donating and installing new windows for Every Third Saturday!  Last month, we were thrilled to be able to bring Republic Services, Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans, Nokomis East Neighborhood Association, MidCountry Bank, Boston Scientific, and Biffs together to support local veterans by making improvements to Every Third Saturday’s soon-to-be new Minneapolis location.  Every Third Saturday provides services to veterans in need and their families.  Every Third Saturday’s facility needed new windows, and Empirehouse stepped in to help!

Empirehouse’s President Mike Gilbert said, “Empirehouse was lucky enough to have the opportunity to help build The Every Third Saturday Headquarters through Rebuilding Together in their efforts to support and assist veterans. We have been able to help support Rebuilding Together for the last three years and have grown to love the passion and great work the organization does to support our community. We would like to thank our fabrication and installation teams as well as our vendors for donating their time and materials to help a great cause!“

Thank you to Empirehouse for support our efforts to help veterans in need!
