Our Quicksilvers Volunteer Team built another ramp late last month for Mona. Mona and her daughter are from the region between Lebanon and Kuwait, and she made a traditional Lebanese lunch for the Quicksilvers group. Mona is currently doing therapy to help recover her mobility and stability. When our Ramp Program Manager returned the day after the ramp build to pick up the trailer, the first thing she did was show him how she could steady herself on the hand rails and take steps on the ramp our volunteers built. This ramp is unique in that we built a small roof to help keep Mona’s scooter dry. Thank you to the Quicksilvers for giving your time to help Mona!
She Shed Is Complete!
During our Flannel Fling last year, we auctioned off a She Shed to one lucky donor, and we are excited to share that the project is complete!
We would like to extend a special thank you to CoreNet, Greiner Construction, and IAG Commercial who came together to make this happen!
The She Shed received the highest bid for our Live Auction event last year. We are grateful for the support of these incredible organizations to help us raise money to assist our neighbors in need!
Deadline for this Round of AmeriCorps is August 31st!
The deadline to apply to join our team as an AmeriCorps member for the Fall Cohort is right around the corner. The program was recently changed to allow for part-time and full-time options!
AmeriCorps members help improve the lives of their neighbors in need through hands-on home repairs and community outreach, while earning a living stipend and an education award to help with educational expenses.
We are hiring an AmeriCorps Project Coordinator. The position description and information on how to apply is available here.
We’re a great team, doing great work in the community! Join us to make a difference, gain valuable career skills, and earn money for your education!
