Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS Helps a Maplewood Homeowner

We partnered with the Saint Paul Area Association of REALTORS on May 18th to build a deck with steps and a raised garden bed for a homeowner in need in Maplewood.  The volunteers worked hard with great spirit, intuition, and incredible teamwork, coming up with creative solutions and taking on any task with great tenacity.  The steps and deck will provide a more accessible entrance to the home and the new cedar garden area will allow our homeowners to comfortably plant vegetables outdoor this spring.  Thank you to SPAAR for partnering with us to help these homeowners!

Be the Tool – Thanks to the six Be the Tool volunteers who helped paint, install a bathroom vanity, patch foundation cracks with concrete, and finish steps.

Susan Sullivan – Thanks for your continued volunteerism with Rebuilding Together Twin Cities over the last few years on multiple homes. Susan comes to volunteer days with a positive, can-do attitude. She treats homeowners with respect and engages them in genuine conversations. She was a pleasure to have on site at Wells Fargo project in Saint Paul earlier this month.

Sano and Russell – Thanks to our recent homeowners Sano and Russell, daughter Jada, and friend Josh for being a tremendous help on the project site. You definitely went out of your way to help get the project done. Special thanks to Sano for making your famous jerk chicken for lunch and providing the volunteers with food on both days!

Deadline Extended to Apply for AmeriCorps!

Rebuilding Together’s National AmeriCorps program is called the Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps. We have 60 full-time AmeriCorps members serving in 28 affiliates in 20 states. Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps builds the capacity of grassroots Rebuilding Together programs so that they may be more sustainable, effective and efficient in helping additional low-income homeowners and communities in need. CapacityCorps members serve essential roles in building the capacity of their host site organizations in vital program areas such as: recruiting and managing volunteers, performing direct home repairs, outreaching to find homeowners to serve, building community partnerships and creating new programs.
