Join our team and serve a year as an AmeriCorps CapacityCorps member! Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps is a National Direct AmeriCorps program with AmeriCorps members serving 11 months at Rebuilding Together affiliates around the country. Members help improve the lives of their neighbors in need through hands-on home repairs and community outreach, while earning a living stipend and an education award to help with educational expenses.

We are hiring two AmeriCorps Project Coordinators and one AmeriCorps Volunteer Engagement Coordinator. To view the position descriptions, click below:

Members will earn a stipend of $16,000 and an Education Award of $6,345 upon completion of the term. The term starts on June 1, 2022.

Capacity building AmeriCorps members with Rebuilding Together Minnesota (also called CapacityCorps) will serve crucial roles in the Minneapolis/St. Paul region. Ryan Karis (Previous Program Manager) Passed Away

We are very sad to share the news that Ryan Karis, who served as our Program Manager for several years before retiring in Summer 2020, passed away on January 15, 2022.  Everyone who knew Ryan knows that he had a heart for service and for helping those in need.

His family set up a Caring Bridge site to keep everyone up-to-date on their plans and allow people to send them messages.  The site is available at https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ryankaris. 

The most recent message from the family thanked everyone for the outpouring of support and said they plan to have a virtual celebration of Ryan’s life on Saturday, February 5th.

We will forever be grateful for Ryan’s passion, hard work, and dedication to helping those most in need in our community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Trellis Grant for Home Modifications for Older Adults

We are thrilled to share that Trellis awarded us a grant to provide home modifications for older adults in the Twin Cities!  This funding will support Safe at Home projects for 50 older adult homeowners, which may include installing grab bars, handrails, handheld shower units, shower seats, no-slip bath treads, improved lighting to prevent falls, removing trip hazards, and more. With this support, we also plan to distribute Safe at Home Kits to 156 older adult homeowners, which will include a smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, no-slip bath treads, dawn to dusk lightbulbs and nightlights, grabbers, mini-flash light, batteries, kitchen fire extinguisher, reusable masks, sanitizing wipes, and an application for Safe at Home services. This grant will have direct, positive impact on the health and safety of the older adult homeowners we are able to serve and we are grateful for the support of Trellis!
