Kickoff to Rebuild Gets Underway!

We launched our Kickoff to Rebuild projects this month, in anticipation of SuperBowl LII! More than 120 volunteers from Lowe’s, CBRE, and the Minneapolis Area Association of REALTORS made repairs for six low-income homeowners in the Tilsenbilt neighborhood in South Minneapolis and rehabilitated a community garden.  We also hosted a Resource Fair and Community Art Project at St. Peter’s AME Church in Minneapolis where the public was invited to decorate parts of peace poles that will later be placed in the community gardens.

Phase two of this incredible project will take place on February 2, 2018 as volunteers repair the interior of the homes.

Check out KARE 11’s story about the event here.

Thanks To….

Orbital ATK – We had a wonderful group of volunteers from Orbital ATK who worked tirelessly to make repairs and improvements to the home of a low-income senior and her family.

Toro – Toro has generously donated a cement mixer that we will use on our projects, as well as lawn mowers and snow blowers for some of our homeowners!

Honeywell – Honeywell recently hosted their 15th annual golf tournament to benefit Rebuilding Together Twin Cities.  We are so grateful for their support!

HRVP Ramp Team Volunteer Bob Fisher Passed Away

We are sad to share the news that long-time Honeywell Retired Volunteer Program (HRVP) volunteer Bob Fisher passed away last month.  Our Ramp Team is made up of retired Honeywell employees and in the past five years, they have built 42 ramps, restoring independence to the homeowners they have helped.  Bob was an important member of this team, and he will be greatly missed.  Bob’s obituary is available here.  Our thoughts are with Bob’s family and friends.
