We would like to extend a warm welcome to Patria Her, an upcoming senior at Harding Senior High School, who is joining us as a Right Track Intern! Patria has been with Right Track Saint Paul for the past four summers. Patria said, “Not only am I delighted to be a Right Track intern at Rebuilding Together Twin Cities for the next few months, I also look forward to completing high school as an International Baccalaureate student and running on my school’s cross-country team. I enjoy painting and philosophizing. I hope to attend Augsburg University in the fall of 2019, and also hope to see firsthand how Rebuilding Together Twin Cities revitalizes my community.” We are thrilled to have Patria join our team for the summer!
Wells Fargo Helps Several Families in Need
We are thrilled to be partnering with Wells Fargo again this year to help families in need in the Twin Cities!
This month, volunteers from Wells Fargo helped three homeowners in need. One of the homeowners we helped is Katrina, a grandmother who lives in North Minneapolis. Katrina was worried about several repairs needed to ensure her home was safe for her grandchild. Volunteers from Wells Fargo built a staircase, installed new flooring and trim in her kitchen, and repainted her front entryway.
We are very grateful to Wells Fargo for their continued commitment to supporting our work to ensure that low-income homeowners can remain in their own homes and neighborhoods!
Otto Bremer Trust Awards Grant to Rebuilding Together Twin Cities
We are thrilled to announce that the Otto Bremer Trust has awarded Rebuilding Together Twin Cities a $60,000 grant. This grant will enhance our ability to serve more of the 300 individuals currently on the waiting list, ensuring they have safe and secure homes to live in. The grant will be used to complete projects including building new ramps for disabled veterans returning to their homes, replacing old carpet for senior citizens to lessen the chance of possible falls, and purchasing the materials needed to replace a leaky roof.
“Without the continued support of the Otto Bremer Trust, we could not continue to grow our presence in the Twin Cities community,” said Kathy Greiner, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Twin Cities. “This grant will allow us to serve more individuals in the community, ensuring their homes are safe and healthy.”
This grant is part of the 7.4 million dollars given by the Otto Bremer Trust across the upper Midwest this year. Otto Bremer Trust is a Saint Paul-based private charitable trust established in 1944 that owns 92 percent of Bremer Bank and also manages a diversified investment portfolio.
