Rebuilding Together, ATK and Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans Celebrate Completion of Transitional Home for Female Veterans

On December 21st, the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) celebrated the opening of a transitional home for female homeless veterans, the first of its kind in the State of Minnesota. This home was donated to the organization earlier in the year and needed substantial restoration work. Rebuilding Together partnered ATK to repair the kitchen floor joists, install new kitchen flooring, cabinets, appliances, and new windows, and completely refinish and restore this home to its original classic bungalow style.

Congratulations to MACV and ATK for coming together to make a difference in the lives of Minnesota’s veterans!

ATK Renovates Shelter that Will House Homeless Female Veterans and Their Children

We recently partnered with ATK to renovate a single-family home owned by the Minnesota Council for Veterans (MACV).  MACV provides comprehensive program and supportive services to homeless veterans in four primary focus areas: emergency assistance, housing, employment and civil legal concerns.  Through their programs, MACV supports homeless veterans in structured, transitional housing, which provides more than shelter for these veterans.  This program offers a home-like environment and assistance in coordinating other needs to develop a personal plan for total recovery.  The home renovated by ATK will be used to house a homeless female veteran and her children.  We are proud to be partnering with ATK to support our nation’s veterans!
