Please join us in welcoming AmeriCorps member Emily Ostercamp to the team!
Emily is a graduate of North Park University in Chicago, where she earned a degree in Communication Arts. Emily is excited to start her work with Rebuilding Together! She said, “While at school and through my university I studied abroad in Sweden, served at a youth camp in Finland and participated in relief projects following Hurricane Harvey in Houston. I love to travel and learn from the people and places that I am in. Following graduation, I made the decision to come home. I worked in Minneapolis as a Warehouse Manager at Great Lakes Clothing Collection in the last year and a half but most recently, I spent four months back in Chicago. While there, I designed and installed a kitchen for my aunt and uncle. I love to create spaces of all varieties for people to be together, learn from each other, and live in the best way possible. I am excited for the opportunity to explore how this experience and passion will translate to this service term with AmeriCorps and Rebuilding Together Minnesota.”
Emily will serve a year with us as an AmeriCorps CapacityCorps member for our Safe at Home Program. Rebuilding Together CapacityCorps is a National Direct AmeriCorps program with AmeriCorps members serving 11 months at Rebuilding Together affiliates around the country. Members help improve the lives of their neighbors in need through hands-on home repairs and community outreach, while earning a living stipend and an education award to help with educational expenses. AmeriCorps members play a critical role in our work to provide needed repairs and accessibility modifications for our neighbors in need. We are thrilled to have Emily on our team!
