HRVP Ramp Team Completes 40th Ramp!

Our incredible Honeywell Retired Volunteer Program Ramp Team has completed their 40th ramp this month and we would like to recognize them!  As a result of their hard work, 40 seniors and individuals living with a disability can safely and independently come and go from their homes!  Our Program Director Tony Sjogren sent them this congratulatory note: “Congratulations on this milestone. It would be easy to think of this as just a number but it is so much more. It is 40 people who are free to come and go from their home were before they may have felt trapped. It is 40 people who may have regained a bit of their pride back that a disability took away. It is 40 sets of families, friends or caregivers who used to struggle to get their person in and out of a home that was once a barrier.  Please note that when I speak of our ramp team to others, I speak of it with pride and a sense of purpose that each of you built one tread, one spindle, one handrail at a time! Well done… now on to 50!”

Thank you to our incredible Ramp Team, and keep up the good work!

HRVP Ramp Team Volunteer Dale White Passed Away

We are sad to share the news that long-time Honeywell Retired Volunteer Program (HRVP) volunteer Dale White passed away in early November.  Our Ramp Team is made up of retired Honeywell employees and in the past five years, they have built 42 ramps, restoring independence to the homeowners they have helped.  The HRVP Ramp Team got together last month to celebrate Dale’s life, and he will be greatly missed.  Dale’s obituary is available here.  Our thoughts are with Dale’s family and friends.

Thanks To…

The Mission Continues – Together with our many partners, we recently constructed a house that will be used by the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans to provide transitional housing for veteran families in crisis.  Volunteers from The Mission Continues helped us put some of the finishing touches on this house by installing a fence around the back yard.

Honeywell Retired Volunteer Program Ramp Team – Our Ramp Team recently helped someone who could not come home from the hospital until a ramp was built at his home.  Our volunteers jumped in to build a ramp so this homeowner could come home in time for Thanksgiving. Our Ramp Team is made up of retired Honeywell employees, and in the past five years, they have built more than 40 ramps, restoring independence to the homeowners they have helped.

KARE 11 and C.H. Robinson – We were thrilled to partner with KARE 11 and C.H. Robinson on Make a Difference Day to construct Little Free Libraries!

Our Ramp Team Rocks!

As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary, we are looking back all of the amazing things our volunteers have done and the hours they have put in! Our Ramp Team, made up of retired Honeywell employees, works hard each year to restore the independence of seniors and individuals living with a disability. Since the group was formed in 2012, they have put in nearly 5,000 hours, building more than 30 ramps. The value of the time they have donated is approximately $110,000!

Check out this video about a ramp they built for a deserving homeowner.
