Timberwolves’ Crunch Joins Celebration of Groveland Park Basketball Court

We were thrilled to host John Thomas and the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Crunch earlier this month to celebrate the completion of the refurbishment of a basketball court in Groveland Park in St. Paul! We also celebrated the completion of the court in St. Cloud this month.

The refurbishment of these courts was made possible by the Minnesota Timberwolves’ FastBreak Foundation and its Our Courts, Our Future program, in partnership with U.S. Bank. This past spring, four courts in Hastings, Hibbing, St. Cloud and St. Paul won an online vote to be renovated by the Timberwolves.  Thank you to everyone who came together to make these projects a success!

Timberwolves and U.S. Bank Provide New Basketball Court in Hibbing

We recently partnered with the Minnesota Timberwolves and U.S. Bank to install a new basketball court in Bennett Park in Hibbing.  Hibbing received the refurbished court as part of the Timberwolves “Our Courts. Our Future” program presented by U.S. Bank and was selected by a community vote to receive the court.  As part of this project, Hibbing High School Basketball Coach and Minnesota basketball legend Joel McDonald recruited 25 volunteers for the project, and we were thrilled to have his enthusiastic support.

You can read more about this project here.

Thanks to the Timberwolves, U.S. Bank, and our many partners who came together to make this project a success, including Pete Hyduke and the Hibbing Parks and Rec Department, Seppi Bros., and Coach Joel McDonald and the Hibbing Youth Basketball Program.  Stay tuned to learn about our next basketball court project with the Timberwolves and U.S. Bank!

Vote for your Favorite Court!

This summer, the Minnesota Timberwolves will travel across the state of Minnesota to help neighborhoods take their love of basketball outdoors with the ‘New Era. New Courts.’ program, presented by U.S. Bank. The team will select three courts to be refurbished, and Rebuilding Together Twin Cities will coordinate the selected projects. The Timberwolves are asking fans to help them decide which court to improve in each market including Rochester, Moorhead and the Twin Cities. Click here to vote today!

Thanks To….

Our amazing Safe at Home volunteers who made home safety and accessibility modifications for four homeowners in need this month!  We’d like to give a special shout out to David L’allier, Ethan Gorton and Kelly Bandman who were the first volunteers to participate in our Saturday Safe at Home projects!

Our dedicated volunteers from the Honeywell Retired Volunteers Program, who regularly build and install ramps for homeowners in need. The homeowner they helped last month said in his thank you, “You have no idea how that ramp has made it so much easier for LaVonne and I in just these few days. I will keep in touch. THANKS AGAIN.”

Alex from the Timberwolves who held the pole for the basketball hoop in place for an hour until the concrete arrived on their project day!
